In terms of the benefits of using Vuescan, I have found it to give me better results and more control than any of the other software I have tried on either my HP Photosmart scanner or my Polaroid SS4000 scanner. Under Windows, Vuescan is much, much smaller than Photshop alone, and I doubt that it is that much larger on a Mac. He is excellent about addressing customer problems, particularly considering that he is a one-man company.Įven though I do not use a Mac, when I read that Vuescan is taking up more space than Nikonscan and Photoshop combined I could see that something is very wrong on your machine. I suggest that you send a note to Ed Hamrick at the support address listed on his web site, describing the problem and asking for his input. It also does not agree with what I have read in posts from Mac users on a scanner forum that I follow. I do not use a Mac, so I cannot speak from personal experience about Vuescan on that platform, but your experience is completely different from mine under Windows.
